Ten Pound Note
Literary Fiction
"London, 1995. One tenner. Twelve lives."
Synopsis
Fresh from the mint, a ten-pound note enters circulation with one small imperfection: the Queen appears to be winking, as if she knows something the rest of us do not.
Over the course of its journey, the tenner passes through twelve lives: the lost, the lonely, the violent, the damaged and the desperate. A child. A gangster with a secret. A drug dealer, a stripper, a crooked policeman and a man with nothing left to lose.
None of them keep the note for long. But each leaves a mark.
What begins as a chain of chance encounters slowly reveals something darker, stranger and more human: a hidden connection between lives that should never have touched, and a path that may yet lead back to redemption.
Ten Pound Note is a gritty, darkly comic and compassionate novel about life, fate, survival and the stories we leave behind.
Reviews & Praise
"Such a fun concept, following a ten pound note around the streets of London in the 90's! It is nostalgic, funny, tense, with great characters and a very well written story. This book is perfect for people who want a funny, fast paced, thrilling, intertwining read, with an amazing concept as the backbone. 10/10"
