Fancy reading Ten Pound Note for free?

I’m looking for readers willing to take a trip through London in 1995 with one slightly peculiar ten-pound note.

Through BookSirens, I’m making a number of free digital review copies of Ten Pound Note available to readers. You get the complete ebook at no cost; in return, you are asked to share an honest review after reading it.

    And I do mean honest.

This isn’t an offer of a free book in exchange for five stars, breathless praise or a declaration that I am the finest novelist since Dickens popped his clogs. Reviews help other readers decide whether a book is right for them, which only works if people are free to say what they genuinely thought.

What is Ten Pound Note about?

    London, 1995.

Fresh from the mint, a ten-pound note carries one peculiar flaw: the Queen appears to be winking.

As it passes through twelve lives, it finds its way into the hands of a child, a drug dealer, a gangster, a stripper, a crooked policeman and several people making spectacularly bad decisions.

At first, their stories seem separate. Gradually, the connections begin to emerge.

Ten Pound Note is gritty, darkly funny and occasionally uncomfortable, but ultimately it is a story about damaged people, chance encounters and the marks we leave on one another.

It may be for you if you enjoy:

    • Interconnected characters and stories

    • Flawed, morally complicated people

    • Literary fiction with crime running through it

    • Dark humour mixed with genuine emotion

    • London and 1990s nostalgia

    • Books that reveal their connections gradually

    How to request your copy

Copies are intended for people who genuinely plan to read and review the book. There is no expectation that the review will be positive, only that it will be honest.

If you do read it, there is one thing I would particularly love to know:

Which of the twelve characters stayed with you?
