"A family of killers on a remote mountain top, what could go wrong?"
I love a nice juicy murder mystery and this book was a fine example of the genre! The premise that everyone has killed before had me intrigued but its not quite as simple as that!
The Cunningham family are a complex bunch, and pulling them together to a remote mountain retreat for a family reunion was always going to be a risk. And the discovery of a body was always on the cards. But things are more complex than they seem, and the family history means everyone is a suspect.
I really enjoyed this one, I loved the writing style, being from the point of view of Ernest Cunningham but written as himself writing a book about the events that unfolded, and with him being the author of books about how to write crime books, it all gets a bit meta. I loved the wit and humour and the breaking of the book version of the fourth wall.
My only criticism was that the mystery was so complex and interwoven that I lost track occasionally. Maybe more a "me problem" but there you go!
