The Pie & Mash Detective Agency

The Pie and Mash Detective Agency tells the story of two would be private detectives, Jane Pye and Simon Mash, as they try to solve a mysterious 50 year old cold case assigned to them as coursework on the PI training course. The pair stumble around Kent, meeting strange characters and piecing together clues. In a different timeline, their PI course teacher, Gavin, is also on the same case but in 1997. Why has he given them the case he couldn't crack? Will they manage to compete the assignment? Who is the mysterious Nellie Thorne?

I really enjoyed this book, the plot played out at a great pace, with plenty of thrills and spills along the way. Jane and Simon are sweet characters, who you root for the whole way through. I loved the books humour and heart, it was very funny without being too forced or silly.
